My computer does not detect my MP3 player

Select your operating system:

Windows XP

Windows Vista

Windows 7

MAC

Windows XP

In Windows do the following:

  • Verify that the latest service pack for Windows is installed.
  • Ensure that you are logged in as “Administrator” so that you have the right to connect new hardware to the computer.
  • Verify that the device is displayed as a removable disk in the window My Computer. You must enable the device using the Device Manager if the device is not listed here.

Enable a device via Device Manager
Follow these steps to enable your Lenco device using the Device Manager:
Go to Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System.
Click on the Hardware tab.

The Device Manager window opens.
In the Device Manager window, click on the plus sign for Disk drives to view the disk drives.

If there is a red cross in front of your listed Lenco device, right-click the red cross and select Enable.

Your Lenco device is now displayed as a removable disk in the window “My Computer”.

If your device is still not displayed in the window “My Computer”, please contact our customer service for further assistance.

 

 

 

Windows Vista, Windows 7

In Windows do the following:

1.    Go to Start 27238-5 in Windows  > Control Panel > System and Maintenance > System > Device Manager.
2.    In the Device Manager window click on the plus sign for Disk drives to view the disk drives.
3.    If there is an arrow in front of your listed Lenco device, right-click the arrow and select Enable.

Your Lenco device must be displayed as a removable disk in the window My Computer.

  • An icon appears on the desktop after connecting the device to a Mac. Your device may appear as NO NAME.

  • Make sure that your Mac OS has been updated with the most recent update. To check for available updates, go toApple > About this Mac > Search for updates.

 

  • Ensure that you are logged in as “Administrator” so that you have the right to connect new hardware to the computer. In the menu bar, select Apple > System Preferences > Accounts.

  • Ensure that in Finder the hard disks, CDs, DVDs, and iPods appear on the desktop. Open Finder and select Finder > Preferences.
