- An icon appears on the desktop after connecting the device to a Mac. Your device may appear as NO NAME.
- Make sure that your Mac OS has been updated with the most recent update. To check for available updates, go toApple > About this Mac > Search for updates.
- Ensure that you are logged in as “Administrator” so that you have the right to connect new hardware to the computer. In the menu bar, select Apple > System Preferences > Accounts.
- Ensure that in Finder the hard disks, CDs, DVDs, and iPods appear on the desktop. Open Finder and select Finder > Preferences.
